Lucy Winkett - From iPod to Evensong

Canon Lucy Winkett opens the Mission and the Arts lecture series with “From iPod to Evensong: the mission of the church in music”

Recorded 16 Oct 2008

Listen now 64min 51MB

The lecture is the first in a series of nine which took place at the Crowther Centre for Mission Education at CMS.

NB Unfortunately, a technical hitch meant the first few words of Lucy's first sentence aren't audible. We join her reminiscing about a trip along the pilgrim's way to Santiago de Compostela.

Lucy Winkett is Canon of St Paul's Cathedral, where she has responsibility for music and liturgy.

Lucy has degrees in history, music and theology.

She writes, speaks and debates on a wide range of issues reflecting on culture, gender and religion.

More people should listen to this talk. It is superb. What a fantastic spokesperson for the church and music. Everything said here is spot on. I am glad there are people like the Canon who give exactly the right message about the necessity for singing, musical appreciation and devotion. Wonderful.
