China earthquake update Sat 24 May
Speedy and targeted action by Chinese Christians is making a difference community by community, says Francis Tsui, president of CMS partner Asian Outreach, whose ActionLove teams are working in the earthquake zone

As we partner with the Chinese Christians to bring light and love, they have also raised significant funds in China to help purchase urgent necessities, which have been immediately delivered into the
disaster areas.

For example, a team returned from one disaster area reporting that there was an urgent need for facemasks, gloves and disinfectant. Within six hours, over 100 boxes of supplies had been collected by the Christians in Wuhan and Shanghai and then flown into Chengdu the same day!

Yesterday [Friday 23 May] another team arrived in Chengdu to help, and brought with them many supplies including tents.

As the government has re-closed the roads to some of the most damaged areas, the team wasn't sure where to deliver the supplies. Their driver suggested Mianzhu.

Praise the Lord, the supplies they had exactly matched the number of those needing help in the area! And they were able to provide two big tents to a lady from another province who has been providing help and counselling to the villagers from her tiny leaky tent.

More updates will follow as we receive them.
